MON, 14 JUL: XIII Century Saint Bonaventure, entered the Franciscan Order after a miraculous cure effected through the intercession of St. Francis of Assisi. He was known for his theological learning, taught with St. Thomas Aquinas at the University of Paris, and respecting his sacred knowledge, he is called the Seraphic Doctor. TUES, 15 JUL: Henry II, King of Bavaria and Holy Roman Emperor. in the XI century. Devoted to the teachings of St. Benedict, St. Henry lived a simple and holy life and gave away all his possessions to the Church when he passed away. WED, 16 JUL: Feast Day of The BVM of Mt. Carmel who appeared in the XII Century to St. Simon Stock and promised special blessings to those who wore the Brown Scapular. THURS, 17 JUL: St. Alexis, of the IV Century, gave up his rich inheritance and returned to his Father’s house as a servant, living under the porch of the home. A church in Rome on the Aventine is named after this holy Saint. FRI, 18 JUL: Devoted to the sick, St. Camillus de Lellis, founded the Camillians to serve them. During the great plague, he helped the dying and cared for the sick. He is invoked in the Litany for the Dying. He is Patron of hospitals and the sick and special protector of nursing Sisters.
